Preparing Your FSBO Home to Show

It is very important that you cover all bases adequately when you are selling you are selling your home on your own. You must have a FSBO home that is in very good condition and ready to be shown to potential buyers.

It does not take much effort to prepare your FSBO home for show but you need proper planning and a little bit of work on your part to guarantee success.

Outside of Your FSBO home

  • It is very important to make the outside of your FSBO home clean and attractive as it is the first thing potential buyers will see.

    Potential buyers get attracted by the curb appeal, or the way your home looks from the outside, therefore if you spruce it up a bit, it will make them to view the inside of the FSBO home.

  • A neatly manicured and well-kept lawn implicitly indicates a well maintained FSBO home.

    While your home is on display for sale, make sure to cut your lawn weekly. You should also make sure to rake leaves and to sweep the sidewalks on the weekends while your home is on display for sale.

  • If you have shrubs and or trees, to make it look more pleasant, remove debris and dead limbs of the shrubs and trees.

    It would be better to plant extra flowers for color or to add potted flowers to lighten up the landscaping.

  • Repair your fences, if there are any repairs or need work. Touch them up with stain or with paint.

  • Keep large pets with neighbors so they do not interfere with the showing of your FSBO home.

  • Put away lawn equipment, toys of your children, and any other outdoor equipment.
